As mum of twin boys this completely resonates! Something really helpful a close friend (also a mum of two boys) said to me during pregnancy was that you kind of expect your children to be little mini mes. They are absolutely not! As soon as they are born, they are so obviously - and so completely - and wonderfully - little humans all of their own, and the idea of what gender they are pales into insignificance. I really liked this. I’ll admit, I do walk through the gorgeous, plentiful, 3/4 shop floor of stunning girls outfits and still feel a little twinge sometimes - but the twins are so completely different from each other, so full of life and character - I wouldn’t have it any other way. 👦👦
Hi Alice, I hear you! So true - you fall completely in love with them regardless. And I truly believe it's okay to be wistful! You can be both wistful for what you won't experience whilst feeling deeply grateful for what you are. I remember a family friend, she had three boys, and she'd sometimes invite me to go into town with her! We used to joke that she'd 'rent' me for shopping trips and hot chocolate and cake, and to do some of the things her boys turned down! I loved it, and so did she. Thanks for sharing x
